If you do not already have City Streets installed, start by installing city streets. See the instruction sheet that came with the City Streets CD's.
Next install the Fleet Tracks software from the special Fleet Tracks installation CD. To do this insert the CD in your CD Drive. The CD should start the install without further action - if the install does not start click START/RUN and enter d:\setup.exe, where d is the letter for your CD drive. You will be required to run several Microsoft install programs during the installation process. Click YES, and agree with all license agreements to complete the install.
Next you need to assign the UNIT NUMBERS to each truck. On the back of each Fleet Tracks unit you will see a serial number. This is the number that identifies the unit to the program.
Go to the Truck Maintenance, or Trailer Maintenance for
a trailer tracking unit, and click the
(or Trailer Info)
button. Look for the ESN# box and put the serial number in that box exactly
the way it appears on the bottom of the unit.
That completes the FLEET TRACKS SETUP. You can now begin using Fleet Tracks.
Once you have Fleet Tracks installed and the unit number assigned, close and reopen the program to activate Fleet Tracks. Next you need to enter your log in information. We will have given you a user name and password and an account number. To enter this information:
1. Open Routing and click FLEET TRACKS/SETUP on the menu bar.
2. The Fleet Tracks Setup Box will appear.
Enter the Account number we gave you in the Account Number box.
Enter the user name we gave you in the User Name box.
Enter the Password in the Password box.
If you use a Proxy Server enter the IP address or name of the Proxy
Server.
Enter the User Name you use to log onto the Proxy Server.
Enter the password for the Proxy Server.
The Update Handle is a program field. Do
not enter anything in this field.
The minimum update interval is 20 minutes. You can make the update interval
longer if you wish, but it cannot be shorter.
The KEY MESSAGES are the messages that will displayed in your program when a driver presses the corresponding key on his keypad in the truck. It can take up to 40 minutes to receive a message after it is sent so do not use these keys for time sensitive messages. You can set these messages to any message you want up to 20 spaces long.
CLICK THE DONE BUTTON. You are now done setting up your Fleet Tracks.
Finally, close and reopen the program again and fleet tracks will activate. You will begin receiving data from the truck within a few minutes if the unit is installed in the truck.
