Create New Trip

A New Trip is created when the status of the truck changes.

To Create A New Trip:

  1. Display the Mileage Tracking window as outlined in About Mileage.

  2. Click the New Trip button located on the bottom toolbar. The Starting Hub dialog box is displayed.

Note: If you wish to create a New Trip for a different truck click the Change Truck button located on the Mileage Tracking toolbar. Choose a Truck from the pulldown list. Click Ok.

  1. Enter the Starting Hub. Click OK. The Starting Location dialog box is displayed.

  1. Enter the Starting Location.

  2. Click OK. The From, Starting Hub and Trip Number fields populate.

  3. Enter the destination in the To field and press the Enter key located on your keyboard.

    Note: The destination is the location of your status changes.

  4. Enter the Date the trip starts and press the Enter key located on your keyboard.

  5. Enter the ProNumber and press the Enter key located on your keyboard. (A ProNumber is required for all trips.)

  6. Enter the Trailer #.

  7. Enter the Status of the load (B = Bobtail, E = Empty, L = Loaded) and press the Enter key located on your keyboard.

  8. Enter the Ending Hub reading for this part of the trip and press the Enter key located on your keyboard.

    If your trip status is empty and you are picking up a shipment for delivery, record the hub reading when you reach the shipper. Once the freight is loaded on the trailer, the trip status changes to loaded. If the pickup and delivery take place in the same state, use the New Trip button to add mileage when the trip status changes. If the truck crosses state lines, you MUST use the Add   button to enter hub readings.

  9. The Truckers Helper calculates the number of Miles. Or, enter the Miles and The Truckers Helper calculates the Ending Hub.

    Note: If your odometer uses kilometers instead of miles see also metric conversion.

  10. Enter the two letter State abbreviation the miles were traveled.

  11. Enter the Interstate or Highways traveled in the Route field.

  12. Click the Save button located on the bottom toolbar.

  13. The mileage record is displayed in the Miles This Pro/Truck Number summary chart.
