Restore

The Truckers Helper provides the capability to restore your data from a backup disk or another location. You can also use this function to move data between two computers.

To Restore Data:

  1. From The Truckers Helper Main menu bar choose Utilities. From the Utilities pulldown menu choose Backup. The Database Maintenance window is displayed.

  1. Click the Restore button. The Restore dialog box is displayed cautioning the restore will overwrite the current database.

  1. Click Yes to overwrite the current database.

Note: Backup MUST have the same name as current database or restore will fail. See also Custom Restore for details on restoring previous year records. If your backup requires more than one disk then you MUST put the last disk in first and follow the on screen instructions.

  1. The Restore feature searches Drive: A for your backup. The Disk Access Error dialog box is displayed.

  1. If your backup is in a different location, click Yes. Otherwise click No and repeat steps 1 through 3 with the backup disk in Drive A:.

  2. If you clicked Yes, the Restore path box is displayed with the path to the Backup file.

  1. Click OK.

  2. The Truckers Helper program replaces your current data set with the backup. See also Auto Backup for details on restoring from your Auto Backup.

To Transfer Data Between Computers:

  1. Backup up you data from the first computer.

  2. Copy your data to a floppy disk.

  3. Restore your data from the floppy disk to the second computer.

Note: This overwrites any data on the computer and replace it with the data from the backup. You cannot enter data on more than one computer at a time.
