ACCOUNTING FLOW
Most of these icons lead to the INCOME EXPENSE page and are provided
more to give you a sense of the order in which things flow through the
program rather than to link you to those specific functions. -
Since much of this has already been covered we will only deal with the
items we have not already discussed.
INVOICING & INCOME - invoicing is the final process in load
management. Using the data you provided in the billing and loads sections
The Truckers Helper prints a trucking specific invoice -
We have had a lot of positive feedback on our invoices from brokers and
shippers who appreciate the complete load information provided by this
trucking specific invoice.
The program also creates a receivable in the accounting section when it
prints the invoice. There are complete A/R reports allowing you to track
your receivables.
TRIP EXPENSES & PAYROLL - as we mentioned earlier The Truckers
Helper is a real time program. Trip Expenses are entered as they occur.
Drivers Advances are entered when you give them the advance, fuel and other
purchases are entered when you receive the receipts from the driver. The
program will then use this infomation to complete the payroll for the driver.
You will no longer be required to track how much you gave the driver for
advances, how much he spent on the trip, etc. The program will automate
this process for you. You simply enter the receipts and let the program
sort them out.
Payroll is also trucking specific and will print out a complete settlement
report for you to pass on to your drivers as well as printing out your
payroll checks.
REPORTS - The real advantage of a computer over manual systems
of running your business is it's ability to take all your data, format it
for you and present it to you in the form of reports on every aspect of
your business. With this in mind we have designed a full range of reports
to keep you informed. Armed with this information you will be able to spot
possible problems before they become major problems, plan for future needs
and stay on top of the many demands of running a business in todays fast
paced environment.
SUMMARY - The Truckers Helper is a trucking specific program. It has
been designed by truckers and written from the ground up specifically to
meet the needs of truckers and trucking companies. As such it offers
several advantages over other types of software which are not tailored
specifically to the trucking industry.
COST/MILE and REVENUE/MILE are typical examples of this difference. While
other accounting programs may be able to track your income and expenses,
they do not understand the concept of mileage and will not provide you
with this critcal information. Other examples include IFTA reporting and
trucking payroll are also unique to our industry. Tracking Driver Advances
and processing them in payroll ranges from difficult to impossible in a
program that has not been specifically designed to handle the needs of
todays trucking businesses.
CONCLUSION
We hope this overview of The Truckers Helper has proved helpful to you in
understanding the flow of the program and the need to provide the program
with the information that it needs to be of the most use to you.
